Ben Allen- Fishing Guide

I am a full time Alaskan and have devoted my life to salmon fishing.  For me there is no better lifestyle than working on a wild Alaskan river.  I have professionally guided salmon trips in Alaska for 12 years and have served close to 4500 anglers.  My fishing addiction began when I landed my first Alaskan king salmon on Lake Creek, at the age of 8. This is how I earn my income, but I guide because I love fishing and sharing this wonderful sport with others.  My passion is sharing the experience of Alaska fishing with my customers.

My guiding philosophy is to help my customers catch fish, but most importantly help my customers have fun.  I absolutely want my customers to catch the most and the biggest fish on the river, but at the end of the day I measure my success, by the quality of the experience, provided to the customers.  I do not get consumed with success rates of other guides. There is a lot more that goes into having a quality trip besides catching fish.

My goal is to become a better fisherman and guide each year-  building on what has worked. You won't find another tackle box on the river like mine. Tying custom flies, painting plugs and mixing scents and chemicals to bait- to name a few.

I have extensive experience operating jetboats, as well as rowing drift boats and rafts through challenging water.  I know what my equipment is capable of!

I take great pride in customer service, maintaining a clean, safe, professional boat, and doing everything within my control to see my customers have an enjoyable trip.

Amber Allen- Office, Bed / Breakfast, & Fish Processing Manager

My wife Amber, has embraced the guiding lifestyle. Amber does a big part in managing Millers Riverboat Service, so I can focus on the river, equipment and fishing aspect. We make a great team! Amber is completely dialed into Alaska salmon fisheries and boy can she fish! She is an amazing and qualified chef.  Before Amber followed me up to Alaska, she was the head chef at Lake Upsata Guest Ranch in Montana.

Aside of being an amazing and attractive wife, she is an extremely hard worker.  In addition to managing the Millers Riverboat Service, Amber works in Human Resources at the Matsu School District office.

Fishing is not just a job for me, but my passion and Life Style! Ask my wife, Amber! I proposed to Amber on the Clearwater River in Idaho, on a fishing trip. I asked Amber to marry me and then we tied on some dry flies and went fly fishing for westslope, cutthroat trout.

My wife planned the wedding and I planned the Honeymoon of a life time; 17 days of non-stop salmon fishing on all the Alaskan Rivers I grew up fishing! Lets just say I have a fishing addiction!

Now, God has blessed Amber and I with this guide service and every day I get to help people experience the time of their lives, catching Alaska's Magnificent Salmon and Trout! Life could not be better!
